From
the Desk of the Principal:
It is spring! The calendar is very full this month, with
field trips and many school activities. Please refer to it.
At
the end of this school year, Haigh will be saying goodbye to four longtime
teachers. We wish to recognize the
retirements of Janice Epps (37 years), Alice Lacharite (29 years), Jean
Ciarametaro (19 years), and Nancy Giuffrida (10 years). After decades of dedicated service to the
children and families of the
We
also want to welcome some new additions to our staff for next year. Our current Reading Specialist Tara Tetu will
be teaching 4th grade at Haigh next year, our new Reading Specialist
will be Nancy Santapaolo, and our new Art teacher will be Kellen Rattigan. We are hiring a third 4th grade
teacher for 2008-2009, and we will also be hiring a new 1st grade
teacher, as Mrs. Meisser is moving to 2nd grade in the fall. Welcome everyone.

This is the first official administration of the test, and parents will

NURSE’S NOTES
Parents and guardians, as
the weather finally turns sunny and warm, I'd like to remind you to please put
sunscreen with SPF 15 or higher and maybe some bug spray to repel ticks on
your children before school. There have been ticks found on school grounds
already this year. Also, please dress
children appropriately, sometimes it's colder in the morning and then warms up.
Make sure they bring water to drink, as they need to drink more as the weather
gets warmer. Thank you.
Tara Hayes,
The Haigh PTA
generously provided all students with free popcorn on April 21st. Thank you to Showcase Cinemas for popping the
corn and to volunteers Jen Wilson, Kim Carpinone, Michelle Olsen, Lynda
Bramhall, Liz Sheedy, Stacy Thibodeau, and Pinkie Grams for their effort.
