Curriculum of Salem High School AF JROTC
Students involved with JROTC leave the program with a strong understanding of the value of teamwork and the knowledge of how self-discipline, self-Respect, and respect for others can help them throughout the remainder of their lives. Cadets learn the importance of serving their community through several local support programs. College admissions personnel as well as employers love to see experience in leadership programs such as JROTC. Students involved in JROTC are more competitive for scholarships and internships. JROTC students interested in pursuing a military career are more competitive for college ROTC scholarships and Military Academy nominations. Those who enlist enter at one to two pay grades higher than traditional enlistees. Our cadets provide valuable service to the community. Our cadets are involved with several local organizations such as Salem Haven, Veterans groups, and Read-to-Lead. JROTC offers students many opportunities to get involved while earning credit toward graduation.
