Dear Parents/Guardians:

It is hard to believe that another year has passed.  Congratulations and farewell to all of our eighth grade students as they move on to high school, as well as to the families who have no younger students remaining at Woodbury.  Likewise, our fondest wishes go to the students and families who will be moving to a new school next year.  We appreciate the connection we have had with each of you, and we will miss you.

Some people believe that when the students leave the school building for summer vacation, the school closes down and nothing happens until the next school year.  Nothing could be further from the truth!  The Woodbury team is well aware that each new year is a fresh start for our students.  Therefore, we do everything we can to plan and organize ourselves in order for that to happen.  Classrooms are painted and furniture repaired.  Equipment is ordered and distributed, desks are refinished and materials are updated or replaced.  Schedules are created, student records are updated, and new staff members are hired. It is a busy place, but please feel free to stop in at anytime if you have questions or concerns about the upcoming school year.

The 2008-2009 calendar is available to view on the main page of the district website.  Please note that the first day of school is August 27, 2008.  Class lists for next year will be posted on Friday, August 22.  Tentative assignments have been made, and will be finalized at the end of summer when we have more accurate enrollment information.

Thank you for working so closely alongside all of us this year.  A strong partnership between home and school is a key to student achievement.  Whether your travels take you near or far, have a safe and enjoyable summer!
