Ten Woodbury Frequently Asked Questions

What are Woodbury's hours of operation?

The student's advisory period begins at 7:25.  Students must be

in their classroom at that time or they will have to check-in at

the main office for a late pass.  We find arriving by 7:15 allows the students enough time to get to their lockers and classes on time.

The end of the day bell rings at 2:10.

Where do I drop off and pick up my children by car?

Parents may drop off their children beginning at 6:30am.  Please use the

back driveway accessed on the right side of the building.   Do not stop on

Main Street or use the front driveway.  In the afternoon students can be

picked up from the lot across the street or on Centerville street.   Please do

not use our driveways as they are needed to load the buses.  Crossing

guards are on duty in the mornings and afternoons.

Do the teacher's post their homework on-line?

Most of our staff and teams have homework pages posted on

SchoolNotes.com.  You can access the site on our home page's

"Homework" link.

How do I contact a teacher by telephone or e-mail?

All of our staff have voice and e-mail accounts.  A complete

list is posted on the home page's "Staff" link.

When is the next school vacation?

We have the school calendar posted through our home

page's "Calendar" link.  Check it for information including

vacations, report card dates, PTSA meetings and other

          special events.

Are 6th graders allowed to attend dances?

Yes.  Due to the size of our student population we have dances for grades 7 and 8 and separate dances for students in grade 6.  The time for all dances will be 7-9pm.

What is the grade requirement to make the high honors list?

Students earning grades of A or A- for all of their marks will earn

high honors.  All of our student recognition programs and other

school information is available from our "Handbook" link.

How can I become a school volunteer?

The PTSA is a valuable resource in our school community.  They

run a number of events and fundraisers throughout the year and

organize our volunteers.  Please check the "PTSA" link on our

          home page for more information.

          What's for lunch?

We have an excellent food service program in the Woodbury School.

They offer breakfast and a large lunch selection as well as afternoon

snacks.  For menus and details please check the "Lunch" link.

Do you have an after school program for students?

Yes.  The POWER program is our after school program sponsored

by the school district and the Salem Boys and Girls Club.  The program

offers free courses after school in the Woodbury School and the Boys and

Girls Club.  The classes typically run for one hour.   A full description is available through the "POWER" link.
