WELCOME
Congratulations
and welcome to the Thunderbirds. We’re
looking forward to an awesome year with lots of hard work but fun projects,
special days, cooperative units, and new friendships that will make this the
best year you’ve ever had.
TEACHERS
Let
us introduce ourselves.
Teaching
Mathematics this year will be Mrs. Blanchette. Mrs. Blanchette
will be in room 50. Seventh grade math
will feature Everyday Math.
In
room 51 is Mrs., Richards. Mrs. Richards
will be our Social Studies teacher this year concentrating on the time period
between the Romans and Greeks and the Industrial Revolution.
In
room 52 will be Mr. Breithaupt, your Science teacher this year. Science concentrates on the world of
Biology. You can be sure there will be
some interesting labs and projects.
All
three of us will be teaching Language Arts and
SUPPLIES
On
the back of this sheet is a list of suggested supplies. Just as a craftsman needs good tools, you’ll
need the right supplies in order to do well.
CAMP
We’ll
be going to Stone Environmental Camp this year for four days and three nights
in sometime in November. The dates have
not be confirmed yet because of NECAP testing.
The
cost will be approximately $270. There
will be a formal letter explaining costs, dates, clothing, and other important items
that will go home with you in September and an informational meeting for your
parents in the Fall.
A
CHRISTMAS CAROL
On
December 14, the entire seventh grade will be attending A Christmas Carol at
the North Shore Music Theater as part of our Language Arts curriculum.
The
cost will be about $17 per student.
CONNECTIONS
On
August 31, we’ll be going to
ADVENTURE
BASED EDUCATION
This
year ABE includes the high elements for us.
You’ll get the opportunity to work as a team in accomplishing a variety
of tasks such as the Ropes and the Spider Web.
ATHLETICS
If
you’re interested in a Woodbury sports team, be sure to have your physical and
paperwork done before August. The
“crawl” on the school district’s channel will keep you updated.
SUMMER,
‘07
Next
year starts now!
There
are many things you can do this summer to get ready for the Fall. Do you know your multiplication tables? The best gift you can give yourself is knowing those math facts!
Science
uses a lot of math too! Reading this
summer is also encouraged. Books,
magazines, newspapers will help keep your mind in “reading shape” in addition
to making you “way smarter.”
WRAP
UP
We
hope this has given you a quick look ahead at next year. We are very excited about meeting new
students and becoming the best team in the school.
There
will be bumps in the road for all of us next year but we’re here to help each
other along the way.
See
you in the Fall!
